This is a handcrafted Tibetan-style wrist mala featuring 18 solid iron skull beads inspired by the ancient charnel ground (śītavana) motif, a powerful reminder of impermanence and fearless wisdom. Each skull bead is roughly 8–9 mm, with an iron guru bead and iron counters on a strong black adjustable cord that fits about 7–8 inch wrists.
The skulls evoke the Citipati / Lord of the Charnel Ground, a protective dharmapāla who cuts through ego, negativity, and obstacles on the path. Iron is traditionally valued in Himalayan ritual objects for its protective, grounding energy and association with Mahākāla and other wrathful deities.
Wear this bracelet as:
• A wrist mala for mantra recitation and daily practice.
• A protection amulet and reminder of the preciousness of each moment.
• A unique piece of artisan jewelry with a strong, masculine, charnel-ground aesthetic.
Details:
• Material: solid iron skull beads, iron guru bead and counters, black woven adjustable cord.
• Bead count: 18 skull beads + guru bead + 2 end beads.
• Bead size: approx. 9 mm (see photos with caliper for reference).
• Fit: adjustable, ideal for about 7–8 inch (17.5–20.5 cm) wrists.
• Origin/style: Tibetan / Himalayan charnel-ground style, handmade in Nepal/Tibet
Care:
Iron will naturally darken and develop patina with wear; keep dry, avoid long contact with water, and gently dry if it becomes wet to prevent rust. A light wipe with an oiled cloth can maintain the surface if desired.
Note: Each bracelet is individually made; small variations in bead shape, texture, and patina are part of its character and spiritual charm.
