This old Tibetan bronze statue depicts Je Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), the renowned founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The figure is shown seated in meditation on a traditional lotus throne, with his right hand raised in a teaching gesture and his left hand holding a monk’s alms bowl. Traces of the original red mineral pigment remain on the hat, reflecting its long history of devotional use.

Crafted in solid bronze with a naturally aged patina, this compact statue was intended for a personal shrine or Buddhist altar. The reverse is left plain, while the lotus base features traditional Tibetan decorative motifs.

Je Tsongkhapa is revered throughout Tibet as a great Buddhist scholar and meditation master, symbolizing wisdom, ethical discipline, compassion, and spiritual realization.
