A distinctive 108-bead Tibetan Buddhist mala handcrafted with smooth yak bone beads and traditional brass components.

The mala consists of 108 creamy ivory-tone yak bone beads, individually shaped into simple cylindrical forms. Their natural variations in color and texture give the strand an organic, traditional character.

The mala is finished with a substantial brass Guru bead with an aged patina, accompanied by a brass decorative drop and deep red cord tassels. A particularly striking detail is the brass Citipati / Charnel Ground skull spacer bead, featuring a stylized skull face associated with Tibetan Buddhist charnel-ground imagery.

An orange-red accent bead adds a warm contrast to the pale bone and aged brass.

In Tibetan Buddhist tradition, a 108-bead mala is traditionally used for mantra recitation, meditation and counting repetitions during spiritual practice.

The Citipati and charnel-ground imagery found in Himalayan Buddhist art can serve as a reminder of impermanence and the transient nature of life, making the skull spacer a meaningful focal point of this mala.

Natural yak bone may show subtle variations in tone, grain and surface texture. The brass components also display an intentionally aged patina. These characteristics contribute to the individual appearance of the piece.

Suitable for meditation, mantra practice, altar display, spiritual jewelry, or a Tibetan Buddhist art collection.
